A founder interview series by Trentinian

Building Software in Luxembourg

Thoughtful conversations with founders about what they are building, how they are building it and what they have learned along the way.

Consider taking part

A 30–40 minute conversation. Publication online is entirely optional.

THE IDEA

A thoughtful conversation about building a company

Every product has a story behind it: a problem someone decided to address, assumptions that had to be tested, technical and commercial decisions, unexpected difficulties and lessons learned through experience.

Building Software in Luxembourg looks beyond the polished company pitch. The aim is to have an open and substantive conversation about what it actually takes to turn an idea into a working product and a growing company.

THE FORMAT

The format

Each interview is a relaxed, 30–40 minute online conversation recorded through Google Meet.

The eight recurring questions are shared beforehand. They provide a framework for the interview while leaving room to follow interesting subjects as they emerge.

  • 30–40 minute online conversation

CONSENT

Publication is optional

You may take part in the conversation without agreeing to public exposure.

At the beginning of the recording, you will be asked whether you consent to:

  • Publication of the complete interview on YouTube
  • Publication of selected short extracts on LinkedIn

You may agree to either, both or neither. The interview will only be published through the channels to which you have consented.

EIGHT QUESTIONS

Eight questions

The same eight questions are shared with every guest before the recording.

  1. Question 01

    What problem are you solving?

We discuss the technology, development process and important product decisions behind the company.

  4. Question 04

    What role does AI play?

How is AI being used within the product, the development process—or both?

  5. Question 05

How are you approaching sales and finding early customers?

How are you bringing the product to market, reaching prospective customers and learning what they need?

  6. Question 06

What moment or milestone are you most proud of so far?

A product breakthrough, customer milestone, team achievement or other moment that made the journey feel worthwhile.

  7. Question 07

    What has been unexpectedly difficult?

What has proved more complicated, time-consuming or uncertain than you anticipated?

  8. Question 08

What would you do differently if starting again?

Looking back at what you have learned so far, what would you change?

WHY TAKE PART

Why take part?

The conversation is an opportunity to step back from the day-to-day work of building a company and reflect on the decisions, difficulties and lessons behind it.

It is also an opportunity to exchange experiences with another software engineer and founder who is genuinely interested in how technology companies are being built in Luxembourg.

If you opt into publication, the interview can also provide:

  • A professionally presented introduction to you and your company
  • An opportunity to explain your product in your own words
  • Direct links to your company and product
  • A complete video interview on YouTube
  • Optional short video extracts for LinkedIn

The series is new, so a large audience cannot yet be promised. What can be promised is a serious conversation, careful presentation and a genuine interest in your story.

Interested in taking part?

If you are building a software product or technology company in Luxembourg, I would be interested in hearing what you are working on.
